“World’s first cooperative multiplayer stock market game using real money” thats the title of the stream on the Twitch Plays channel, where Mike Roberts, a Seattle based Amazon engineer, with the user name “StockStream” has put $50,000 of his own money to let other people play with it on the stock market.
This idea mimics other social experiments like 2014’s “Twitch Plays Pokémon” where the gameboy control was shared with more than a million twitch viewers through the comments section. This time the commands are not to attack or run but to buy and sell real shares in the stock market.
About 190,000 have come to play on the stream page or at least to see the show.
